"White acacia" - the last work of I. Dunayevsky. The composer worked on the music for the operetta in the spring and summer of 1955. The first to be written were the central ones in the musical dramaturgy "The Song of the Acacia" and "The Song of Odessa". The composer did not have time to finish his work: he died on July 25, 1955, and four months later the premiere of his swan song took place. According to Dunayevsky's sketches, the music was completed by K. Molchanov.

"White Acacia" is full of bright, captivating music. In this work, Dunayevsky departs from the principles of the structure of the classical operetta and creates a light, cheerful, colorful lyrical comedy. The style of the operetta is in the spirit of Soviet films of the 1930s and 1940s - Circus, Volga-Volga, Hearts of Four. Viewers of the older generation, having visited the performance, will experience bright nostalgic feelings, and young people will certainly be interested in this retro journey into the world of sincere passions and patriarchal customs of Odessa courtyards.
