Rudolf Buchbinder, whose interpretations of Beethoven are considered among the finest of our time, returns to the NY Phil to perform the composer’s Fourth Piano Concerto. Brahms’s Fourth Symphony is a masterpiece in which joy and sorrow seem to be in constant battle. The prelude to Wagner’s Die Meistersinger is full of lyricism and fanfare.
