Kharkiv National Opera and Ballet Theater tours in Kaunas: fiery G. Bizet's Carmen
May 5 The Kharkiv National Opera and Ballet Theater with a performance by G. Bizet “Carmen” will tour the Grand Stage of the Kaunas National Drama Theater. It is a unique opportunity to see the performance of Europe’s second largest opera house and to support artists who have been forced to stop their creative activities due to the war in their homeland.

There is probably no opera house in the world whose repertoire does not boast this masterpiece of a French composer, and it is no coincidence that it is included in the tour of the Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater on the European Way. The performance features singers from the Kharkiv Opera, a choir, and a theatrical symphony orchestra conducted by Dmytro Morozov, the chief conductor.
The Carmen Opera is the most widely performed opera in the world, and its author, Georges Bizet, remained the author of a masterpiece in the history of opera. French-Spanish temperament, an intriguing story about a Spanish gypsy who chose death in the name of freedom and love, but above all wonderful, well-known music in everyday form - in Lithuania, as all over the world, this opera has always been and is a favorite of the public. Carmen always comes back - every time she is reincarnated, she is essentially the same - intriguing, inspiring, hopeful and admirable. Carmen's story is the most vibrant cultural myth of our century about the mysterious nature of women.
All funds raised will go to the Kharkiv National Opera and Ballet Theater.
