Simply Bach!
"A model of discipline and humility," says Benjamin Appl about Johann Sebastian Bach. The baritone counts the baroque master among his favorite composers. Since his beginnings with the Regensburger Domspatzen, Appl have accompanied his works. Bach has become one of the gravitational centers of his artistic work. Appl approached Bach again and again with a deep connection, but also reverential respect, and came up with interpretations full of clarity, richness of detail and emotionality at the same time. But the best thing, according to Appl, is to penetrate behind all the complexity to the very personal and spiritual core of Bach's music.

„Ein Vorbild an Disziplin und Demut“, befindet Benjamin Appl über Johann Sebastian Bach. Den Barockmeister zählt der Bariton zu seinen Lieblingskomponisten. Seit seinen Anfängen bei den Regensburger Domspatzen begleiten Appl dessen Werke. Bach ist zu einem der Gravitationszentren seiner künstlerischen Arbeit geworden. Mit inniger Verbundenheit, aber auch ehrfürchtigem Respekt nähert sich Appl Bach immer wieder und kommt zu Interpretationen voller Klarheit, Detailreichtum und Emotionalität zugleich. Aber das Schönste sei es, so Appl, hinter aller Vielschichtigkeit zum ganz persönlichen und spirituellen Kern in Bachs Musik vorzudringen.
