Madrigal Choir - "About Culture"
On Saturday, January 21, from 19:00, the National Chamber Choir "Madrigal - Marin Constantin" invites the public to the Extraordinary Concert "About Culture".
The Madrigal Choir, directed by Anna Ungureanu, opens the concert year with an event at the Romanian Athenaeum, dedicated to the celebration of national culture and Romanian composers. The Extraordinary Concert "About Culture" is structured as a journey through the music of the 17th - 20th centuries, with a collection of emblematic works from our cultural heritage.

The special guests of the Madrigal Choir at the event are the actors Victoria Cociaș, Claudiu Istodor and Adrian Titieni.

The repertoire of the "About Culture" Extraordinary Concert contains both archaic works, such as those from "Codex Caioni" - the series collected by the Transylvanian Franciscan monk Ion Căianu and processed by Constantin Rîpă - or fragments from the famous "Byzantine Florilegium" structured by maestro Marin Constantin , as well as modern and folklore inspired pieces, signed by Mihail Jora, Alexandru Pașcanu, Paul Constantinescu, Cornelia Tăutu or Corneliu Cezar.

The event will be broadcast live by National Romanian Television, on TVR Cultural.

The Extraordinary Concert "About Culture" is part of the "MADRIGAL 60" anniversary program, which includes an extensive series of over 30 special projects, which will take place throughout 2023. The program marks 60 years of uninterrupted activity, excellence in music and diplomacy through culture for the Madrigal Choir, which has become a symbol of national artistic constancy, but also of the cultural relevance and image of Romania in the world.
