Così fan tutte is certainly, of all Mozart's operas, the one in which eroticism emerges in the most certain way. What comes from the manual of "knowing how to love" is embodied here in a soundtrack of infinite delicacy. The combinatorial effect of the libretto delights in the permutations resulting from the situations (the three men, the three women, the three couples…) and offers Mozart an incredible variety of situations and vocal ensembles (from the duo to the sextet). The music espouses the breathless rhythm of the libretto and all the psychological registers through which the protagonists pass, from sensual turmoil to the most assertive assurance.

For this new production, we find the director Laurent Pelly (who delighted us three seasons ago with a barber of great refinement) and the conductor Emmanuelle Haïm, whom we no longer present here as the Theater is her Parisian house for a long time. Both have known each other since a certain Giulio Cesare at the Paris Opera and share this taste for theatricality of which Cosìis one of the finest examples. We will find for the occasion a team of dream singers. Let us judge: honors to the ladies with the duo Vannina Santoni (blonde Fiordiligi) and Gaëlle Arquez (brunette Dorabella), in turn courted by Ferrando by Cyrille Dubois and Guglielmo by Florian Sempey. Laurent Naouri should camp with the panache that we know the reconciling figure of Alfonso.

Così fan tutte est certainement, de tous les opéras mozartiens, celui où l’érotisme affleure de la manière la plus certaine. Ce qui tient du manuel de « savoir-aimer » s’incarne ici dans une trame sonore d’une infinie délicatesse. L’effet combinatoire du livret se délecte des permutations qui découlent des situations (les trois hommes, les trois femmes, les trois couples…) et offre à Mozart une incroyable variété de situations et ensembles vocaux (du duo au sextuor). La musique épouse le rythme haletant du livret et tous les registres psychologiques par lesquels passent les protagonistes, du trouble sensuel à l’assurance la plus affirmée.

Pour cette nouvelle production, nous retrouvons le metteur en scène Laurent Pelly (qui nous avait comblé il y a trois saisons avec un Barbier d’un grand raffinement) et la cheffe Emmanuelle Haïm que l’on ne présente plus ici tant le Théâtre est sa maison parisienne depuis longtemps. Tous deux se connaissent depuis un certain Giulio Cesare à l’Opéra de Paris et partagent ce goût de la théâtralité dont Così est l’un des plus beaux exemples. On retouvera pour l’occasion une équipe de chanteurs de rêve. Qu’on en juge : honneurs aux dames avec le duo Vannina Santoni (blonde Fiordiligi) et Gaëlle Arquez (brune Dorabella), tour à tour courtisées par le Ferrando de Cyrille Dubois et le Guglielmo de Florian Sempey. Laurent Naouri devrait camper avec le panache qu’on lui connaît la figure réconciliatrice d'Alfonso.
