"The seal woman's child" is based on an ancient myth from the far north: A lonely fisherman falls in love with a seal woman, a hybrid of man and seal. It is his wife, but on condition that he, together with its seal-fur after seven years Freil like sst. From their love there arises a son - Oruk. The Viennese artist collective makemake produktionen, in short: makemake [ˈmakeˈmake] - after the creator and fertility goddess of the culture of Easter Island - has been developing theater and performance formats since 2011. The group trusts in the unknown and explores with their audience: forms of encounters and constructions of reality. The artistic-critical claim is always the same: makemake believes in craftsmanship, quality, discipline, cooperation and humor, at the same time the artists persistently question and subvert these concepts.
