Die Namenspatronin der katalanischen Sängerin und Harfenistin Arianna Savall ist die mythologische Ariadne. Mit einem Wollfaden rettet diese ihren Liebhaber Theseus aus dem Labyrinth, wo der wilde Stier Minotaurus haust. Der Faden im Auftaktskonzert der neuen Meerschein-Saison ist die Zauberstimme Arianna Savalls und der Glanz ihrer historischen Harfen. Das Labyrinth ist die Wunderwelt der mediterranen Musik vom Mittelalter bis zum Barock. Nur der Minotaurus bleibt zum Glück daheim.

The namesake of the Catalan singer and harpist Arianna Savall is the mythological Ariadne. With a wool thread she saves her lover Theseus from the labyrinth where the wild bull Minotaur lives. The thread in the opening concert of the new Meerschein season is Arianna Savall's magical voice and the splendor of her historic harps. The Labyrinth is the wonderful world of Mediterranean music from the Middle Ages to the Baroque. Luckily only the Minotaur stays at home.
