The Zaryadye Hall presents a concert from the works of one of the brightest composers of our time, Leonid Desyatnikov. 

2 4 Preludes for Piano "Bukovina Songs" were written for Alexei Goribol, the first performer of most of the composer's works for pianoforte, and are dedicated to him.

“Working with Bukovina Songs brought me absolute pleasure, creative pleasure, coupled with a sense of great responsibility. From the first playing, from the first note, it became obvious that the piano repertoire was enriched with an absolute masterpiece, ”said Alexei Goribol in an interview.

The cycle is based on the collection of the same name, published in 1957 by the publishing house "Soviet Composer". Leonid Desyatnikov's "Bukovina Songs" combined Western Ukrainian intonations, the techniques of modern composing technique and the tradition of composing plays in all keys, coming from Bach.

For the first time, 12 of Desyatnikov's 24 prelude songs were performed in October 2017 at New York's Lincoln Center in Alexei Ratmansky's Bukovina Songs, staged for the American Ballet Theater. The full cycle was performed at the Diaghilev Festival in Perm in June 2018, and in the fall of 2019 a recording was released at the Melodiya company.

 "The Love and Life of a Poet" is a vocal cycle for tenor and piano based on poems by Oberiut poets Nikolai Oleinikov and Daniil Kharms, created by Leonid Desyatnikov in 1989. The title of the work combines the names of two of Schumann's vocal cycles - "The Love of a Poet" and "The Love and Life of a Woman". “This is how you can imagine that “distorting mirror” through which Desyatnikov looks at the culture of the past, and even his own creativity. He deliberately emphasizes the trivial in the original, the base in the sublime, erasing the lines between them and mocking everything at the same time, ”Soviet Music wrote about the composition in 1990. 
Tenor Bogdan Volkov takes part in the performance of the vocal cycle. Graduate of the Kyiv Institute of Music. R. Gliera performs on the stages of Europe and America. From 2016 to 2018 he is a soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre. Since September 2018 - soloist of the New Opera named after E. V. Kolobov. In March 2020, the organizing committee of the Casta diva opera award named Dmitry Chernyakov's new production of The Tale of Tsar Saltan at the La Monnaie Theater in Brussels a European event. As the director himself said, this performance would not have been possible without Bogdan Volkov, who brilliantly performed the part of Gvidon.
