The vocal cycle "Departed Russia" is one of the most significant works of Sviridov, written to the verses of Sergei Yesenin. The selection of texts for the cycle revealed to the listeners an unfamiliar poet - a mystic, a religious thinker. On top of Yesenin's lines, Sviridov wrote his own poem about Russia with a deep philosophical basis, a poetic-archaic sound and a through movement from landscape lyrics through dramatic collisions to a hymn finale.

Sviridov conceived the cycle "Departed Russia" as a symphonic opus and insisted on the genre definition of "poem", but he did not have time to do the orchestration. This idea was implemented by one of the leading composers of the 40-year-old generation, Alexei Syumak, who arranged the Sviridov cycle for a chamber-instrumental ensemble.

12 songs of the cycle are interspersed with Yesenin's poetry performed by Elena Morozova, an actress from the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre. The soloist is countertenor Andrey Nemzer.

The Praktika ensemble was created at the Moscow theater of the same name in 2019. The ensemble's curator was the composer Alexei Syumak, and the music director was the singer and conductor Olga Vlasova. For three years, the ensemble gave several concerts of contemporary music in the theater, took part in the performance "Repin" in the Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val, in a concert in Zaryadye, and also became a performer of Alexei Syumak's opera "Frost, Red Nose", staged by director Marina Brusnikina at the Praktika Theatre.

Вокальный цикл «Отчалившая Русь» — одно из самых значительных произведений Свиридова, написанное на стихи Сергея Есенина. Отбор текстов для цикла открыл слушателям незнакомого поэта — мистика, религиозного мыслителя. Поверх есенинских строк Свиридов написал собственную поэму о России с глубокой философской основой, поэтично-архаичным звучанием и сквозным движением от пейзажной лирики через драматические коллизии к гимническому финалу.

Свиридов задумывал цикл «Отчалившая Русь» как симфонический опус и настаивал на жанровом определении «поэма», однако оркестровку сделать так не успел. Эту идею осуществил один из ведущих композиторов поколения 40-летних Алексей Сюмак, переложив свиридовский цикл для камерно-инструментального ансамбля.

12 песен цикла перемежаются с поэзией Есенина в исполнении актрисы Электротеатра Станиславский Елены Морозовой. Солистом выступает контратенор Андрей Немзер.

Ансамбль «Практика» был создан при одноименном московском театре в 2019 году. Куратором ансамбля стал композитор Алексей Сюмак, музыкальным руководителем – певица и дирижер Ольга Власова. За три года ансамбль дал несколько концертов современной музыки в театре, принял участие в перформансе «Репин» в Третьяковке на Крымском Валу, в концерте в «Зарядье», а также стал исполнителем оперы Алексея Сюмака «Мороз, Красный Нос», поставленной режиссером Мариной Брусникиной в театре «Практика».
