Réunir deux géants comme Matthias Goerne et Evgeny Kissin, c’est la promesse d’un événement rare, de ceux qui laissent des souvenirs impérissables. Pour ce concert hors norme, les deux artistes ont choisi un monument du répertoire mélodique du XIXe siècle : le Dichterliebe (« Les Amours du poète ») de Robert Schumann. Mathias Goerne est considéré comme un des meilleurs interprètes de ce cycle qui porte en lui toute l’âme du romantisme allemand. Le poète Heinrich Heine, ici mis en musique par Schumann, l’a aussi été par Johannes Brahms. C’est donc tout naturellement que Goerne et Kissin nous offrent aussi une sélection de ces lieder, parmi les plus inspirés.

Having two such giants as Matthias Goerne and Evgeny Kissin together on the same stage carries the promise of a rare concert experience that will leave a lasting impression. For this unique recital, the two artists have chosen a monument of nineteenth-century musical literature: Robert Schumann’s Dichterliebe. Matthias Goerne is considered one of today's best interpreters of this song cycle which embodies the soul of German Romanticism. The poet Heinrich Heine, here set to music by Schumann, was also set to music by Johannes Brahms. Therefore, it is only natural that Goerne and Kissin should also offer us a selection of his lieder, among the most inspired.

Twee giganten als Matthias Goerne en Jevgeni Kissin samen op één podium: het recept voor een memorabele muziekavond. In de Henry Le Boeufzaal brengen ze een monument van het negentiende-eeuwse liedrepertoire: Robert Schumanns Dichterliebe. Matthias Goerne geldt vandaag als een van de beste vertolkers van deze cyclus die, gecomponeerd op de poëzie van Heinrich Heine, de hele ziel van de Duitse romantiek in zich draagt. Ook Johannes Brahms deelde de ‘dichterliefde’ van zijn bewonderde vriend en vond in Heines lyriek inspiratie voor heel wat van zijn liederen. Dit recital besluit met een bloemlezing uit dit rijke œuvre.
