LA VEDOVA ALLEGRA
“La vedova allegra” è da sempre il primo e più importante titolo della storia dell’operetta.
La prima mondiale ebbe luogo a Vienna nel 1905 e portò Franz Lehár alla fama mondiale.
Questo titolo ha attraversato tutto un secolo di cambiamenti profondi, eppure il suo successo non si è mai appannato ed è sicuramente desti-
nato a rinnovarsi nel terzo millennio. Basti pensare che quest’operetta è a tutt’oggi uno dei titoli più rappresentati nelle Stagioni Teatrali di
tutto il mondo.
Parigi, inizio del Novecento. All’Ambasciata del Pontevedro si sta svolgendo la festa per il compleanno dell’amato Sovrano. L’attenzione è
però concentrata sull’arrivo della giovane, bella e ricca vedova del banchiere di Corte, Hanna Glavari, il cui fascino, unito all’immensa ere-
dità, ha stregato molti nobili signori parigini.
Per ragioni di stato, si deve procurare un marito alla ricca ereditiera, e il fatto che l’aspirante a tale compito sia proprio Danilo, un uomo di
vita, non semplifica certo il piano dei diplomatici pontevedrini.
La Compagnia Teatro Musica Novecento presenta un bellissimo allestimento dello spettacolo, con la brillante Silvia Felisetti nel ruolo della
Vedova, l’importante voce e presenza scenica di Fulvio Massa nel ruolo del Conte Danilo e l’irresistibile Alessandro Brachetti nel ruolo del
buffo Cancelliere Niegus.
Il corpo di Ballo “Accademia” con le coreografie di Costanza Chiapponi arricchirà tutte le scene d’assieme con eleganza e professionalità.
L’orchestra “Cantieri d’Arte” formata da valenti professori sarà diretta dalla maestria di Stefano Giaroli.
RIASSUNTO
ATTO PRIMO:
Parigi, inizio del Novecento. All’ambasciata del Pontevedro si sta svolgendo la festa per il compleanno dell’amato Sovrano. L’attenzione è
però concentrata sull’arrivo della giovane e ricca vedova del banchiere di Corte, Hanna Glavari, il cui fascino, unito all’immensa eredità, ha
stregato molti nobili signori parigini.
Il Barone Zeta, l’ambasciatore, ha però il compito segreto di far risposare Hanna con un pontevedrino per conservare il patrimonio Glavari
nelle dissestate casse dello Stato. Affida perciò a Niegus, sbadato cancelliere dell’ambasciata, l’incarico di trovare il conte Danilo
Danilovitch, viveur impenitente un tempo innamorato di Hanna, e di convincerlo a sposare la vedova.
Ma tra i due ormai non corre buon sangue e pur nutrendo ancora un forte sentimento l’uno per l’altra, nel rivedersi Hanna e Danilo si dichia-
rano apertamente guerra.
Nel frattempo Valencienne, giovane e capricciosa moglie di Zeta, desidera troncare la segreta relazione che da tempo la unisce a Camillo
De Rossillon. Per salvare la propria reputazione di donna onesta, che sta per essere compromessa a causa di un ventaglio galeotto, prova
inconfutabile del tradimento, Valencienne ordina a malincuore a Camillo di dichiarare il suo amore ad Hanna e di chiederla in moglie. Il
ventaglio compromettente viene ritrovato proprio da Zeta che ingenuamente crede appartenga a Olga, la scatenata moglie del capitano
Kromov.
ATTO SECONDO:
Durante un ballo in casa Glavari, il Barone Zeta viene informato da Niegus che Camillo, il più temibile ostacolo al raggiungimento del suo
scopo, è innamorato di una donna sposata. Ignaro del fatto che si tratti proprio di sua moglie, obbliga Niegus a incoraggiare questa relazio-
ne per distogliere l’attenzione di Camillo da Hanna.
Camillo, per un ultimo appuntamento passionale, si incontra con Valencienne in un piccolo padiglione nel giardino della Glavari. Zeta viene
informato con immane sorpresa che la donna appartata nel padiglione con Rossillon è proprio la sua “fedele” mogliettina. Ordina imperio-
samente ai due di uscire, ma fra lo stupore generale, dal padiglione escono Camillo e Hanna.
Danilo è roso dalla gelosia. Zeta non riesce a capire. Tutti gli altri invitati sono attoniti: Hanna ha scelto il futuro marito, un parigino. Le
casse del Pontevedro sono rovinate.
ATTO TERZO:
Ricreate in casa Glavari le atmosfere e i balli dello spumeggiante Chez Maxim, Danilo può annegare il dispiacere nello champagne insie-
me alle focose grisettes. Ma Hanna lo raggiunge e gli spiega che è stato Niegus ad effettuare lo scambio di persona nel padiglione per sal-
vare Valencienne.
Dopo tanto soffrire Danilo può finalmente dire ad Hanna “Io ti amo

 "La vedova allegra" has always been the first and most important title in the history of operetta.

 The world premiere took place in Vienna in 1905 and brought Franz Lehár to world fame.

 This title has gone through a whole century of profound changes, yet its success has never tarnished and is certainly destined for

 born to renew itself in the third millennium.  Suffice it to say that this operetta is still one of the most represented titles in the Theatrical Seasons of

 Worldwide.

 Paris, early twentieth century.  The birthday party of the beloved Sovereign is taking place at the Embassy of Pontevedro.  Attention is

 however focused on the arrival of the young, beautiful and rich widow of the court banker, Hanna Glavari, whose charm, combined with the immense

 dity, has bewitched many noble Parisian gentlemen.

 For reasons of state, a husband must be procured for the rich heiress, and the fact that the aspirant to this task is Danilo, a man of

 life, certainly does not simplify the plan of the Pontevedrini diplomats.

 The Compagnia Teatro Musica Novecento presents a beautiful staging of the show, with the brilliant Silvia Felisetti in the role of

 Vedova, the important voice and stage presence of Fulvio Massa in the role of Count Danilo and the irresistible Alessandro Brachetti in the role of

 funny Chancellor Niegus.

 The "Accademia" corps de ballet with the choreography of Costanza Chiapponi will enrich all the ensemble scenes with elegance and professionalism.

 The "Cantieri d'Arte" orchestra made up of talented professors will be directed by the mastery of Stefano Giaroli.

 SUMMARY

 ACT ONE:

 Paris, early twentieth century.  The birthday party of the beloved Sovereign is taking place at the Pontevedro embassy.  Attention is

 however focused on the arrival of the young and rich widow of the court banker, Hanna Glavari, whose charm, combined with the immense inheritance, has

 bewitched many noble Parisian gentlemen.

 Baron Zeta, the ambassador, however, has the secret task of having Hanna remarry with a Pontevedrino to preserve the Glavari heritage

 in the troubled state coffers.  He therefore entrusts Niegus, careless chancellor of the embassy, ​​with the task of finding Count Danilo

 Danilovitch, unrepentant viveur once in love with Hanna, and to persuade him to marry the widow.

 But now there is no good blood between the two and while still nurturing a strong feeling for each other, in seeing each other again Hanna and Danilo declares-

 openly war.

 Meanwhile, Valencienne, a young and capricious wife of Zeta, wishes to end the secret relationship that has long united her to Camillo

 De Rossillon.  To save her reputation as an honest woman, which she is about to be compromised by a convict fan, she tries

 irrefutable of her betrayal, Valencienne reluctantly orders Camillo to declare her love for her to Hanna and ask her to be his wife.  The

 compromising fan is found by Zeta who naively believes it belongs to Olga, the captain's wild wife

 Kromov.

 SECOND ACT:

 During a dance in the Glavari house, Baron Zeta is informed by Niegus that Camillo, the most fearful obstacle to achieving his

 purpose, he is in love with a married woman.  Unaware that she is indeed his wife, he forces Niegus to encourage this relationship.

 nor to divert Camillo's attention from Hanna.

 Camillo, for a last passionate appointment, meets Valencienne in a small pavilion in the Glavari garden.  Zeta comes

 informed with great surprise that the woman secluded in the pavilion with Rossillon is his "faithful" wife.  Order imperio-

 it was only for the two to leave, but to general amazement, Camillo and Hanna came out of the pavilion.

 Danilo is consumed with jealousy.  Zeta cannot understand.  All the other guests are astonished: Hanna has chosen her future husband, a Parisian.  The

 coffers of the Pontevedro are ruined.

 ACT THREE:

 Having recreated the atmospheres and dances of the sparkling Chez Maxim in the Glavari house, Danilo can drown his sorrow in champagne together

 me to the fiery grisettes.  But Hanna joins him and explains that it was Niegus who made the mistake in the pavilion to

 vare Valencienne.

 After so much suffering Danilo can finally say to Hanna “I love you
