Mozart's Don Giovanni appeared on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater in 1825 and since then has returned to this stage more often than any of the operas of the great Austrian. The new version was proposed by the production team, which included Tugan Sokhiev (stage director), Semyon Spivak (director), Semyon Pastukh (set designer), Galina Solovieva (costume designer) and Sergey Gritsai (choreographer). In the new performance, the heroes of the legendary story belong to a society where the cult of hedonism and unbridled thirst for pleasure reigns. According to the director, this "production is not about a seducer, but about a person who lives by playing - loving life, he wants to get everything from it." Don Giovanni by Mozart appeared at The Bolshoi in 1825 and since then it has returned to our stage more than any other opera by the great Austrian.

Mozart's Don Giovanni, which appeared on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater many times, returns to its stage. This time the opera will be presented by conductor Tugan Sokhiev, stage director Semyon Spivak and set designer Semyon Pastukh. In their play, the heroes of the legendary story are a community in which the cult of hedonism and unrestrained thirst for pleasure reigns. The action of the opera resembles in style the Italian cinema of the neorealist era, with its irony, touching naivety and at the same time tragic depth. This contributes to the embodiment of the plot in the spirit of the theater of experience, with the naturalness of emotions and reactions, unusual for our time of radical directorial experiments.
