W. A. ​​Mozart defined the genre of his Don Giovanni as dramma giocoso, that is, "jolly drama." Indeed, there are more mysteries and contradictions in Don Giovanni than in any other opera. Game and reality, masks and faces, sensuality and cold moralizing are mixed here. The opera is based on a legend about a daring and courageous tempter who easily conquers women's hearts. Since its inception, this story has occupied the minds of many great writers and composers.

The history of the creation of Mozart's most mysterious and daring opera is surrounded by numerous rumors and legends. Allegedly, the writing of the text was not without the participation of Casanova, the overture was composed already on the night before the premiere, and according to Da Ponte's memoirs, the writing of the libretto was accompanied by either Tokay or marcimino (it is this wine that Don Juan asks to serve in the last picture).

Don Juan, a Spanish grandee, a life-burner and an incorrigible voluptuary, has no other principles than those that he declared for himself. However, this charming, charismatic and vicious libertine is an order of magnitude smarter, fearless and resourceful than his surroundings. One day - either by crossing a certain line, or by coincidence - Don Juan falls under the power of dark forces that he cannot control. Trying to win over the beautiful and impregnable donna Anna, he kills her father, the Commander. From the moment of the murder, incredible luck leaves the hero. We learn about its former scale from the aria of his servant Leporello, where he announces the list of beauties conquered by Don Juan, "ladies of all classes, all signs and all years" in total more than two thousand. After Donna Anna, not a single seduction of Don Giovanni succeeds. However, for some time the hero easily extricates himself from any situation. Exchanging costumes with a servant, deceiving an angry fiance, fleeing from pursuers - all this does not carry a trace of despair. On the contrary, for Don Juan, this is another cheerful audacity! And even when the statue of the Commander in the cemetery, where Don Juan and Leporello meet after another adventure, starts talking, this does not put Don Juan in a gloomy frame of mind. The individual interpretation of the plot, which has preserved the composer's and libbretist's intent, will draw the viewer's attention to today with its rapidly changing reality and huge information flows. The symbolism surrounding the main characters will emphasize and enhance the semantic load of the opera, help unravel the hidden meanings and decipher the subtexts of the great reformer Mozart. Interesting directorial discoveries and an unexpected denouement will allow you to take a different look at the realities of today's life with its old and new values.

В. А. Моцарт определил жанр своего «Дон Жуана» как dramma giocoso, то есть «веселая драма». И в самом деле, загадок и противоречий в «Дон Жуане» больше, чем в любой другой опере. Здесь перемешались игра и реальность, маски и лица, чувственность и холодное нравоучение. В основе оперы – легенда о дерзком и отважном искусителе, который с легкостью покоряет женские сердца. Со времен своего возникновения этот сюжет занимал умы многих великих писателей и композиторов.

История создания самой таинственной и дерзкой оперы Моцарта окружена многочисленными слухами и легендами. Якобы в написании текста не обошлось без участия Казановы, увертюра сочинялась уже в ночь перед премьерой, а согласно мемуарам Да Понте, написание либретто сопровождалось не то токайским, не то марцимино (именно это вино просит подать на стол Дон Жуан в последней картине).

Дон Жуан, испанский гранд, прожигатель жизни и неисправимый сластолюбец, не имеет иных принципов, кроме тех, что объявил для себя сам. Однако этот обаятельный, харизматичный и порочный либертин на порядок умнее, бесстрашнее и находчивее своего окружения. Однажды – не то перейдя некую черту, не то по стечению обстоятельств – Дон Жуан попадает под власть тёмных сил, с которыми не может совладать. Пытаясь завоевать прекрасную и неприступную донну Анну, он убивает её отца, Командора. С момента убийства невероятная удача оставляет героя. О её былом масштабе мы узнаём из арии его слуги Лепорелло, где тот оглашает список завоеванных Дон Жуаном красавиц, «дам всех сословий, всех примет и всяких лет» в общем количестве больше двух тысяч. После донны Анны ни одно соблазнение Дон Жуану не удается. Однако ещё какое-то время герой легко выпутывается из любой ситуации. Обмен костюмами со слугой, обман разгневанного жениха, бегство от преследователей – все это не несёт и следа отчаяния. Наоборот, для Дон Жуана это очередная веселая дерзость! И даже когда статуя Командора на кладбище, где Дон Жуан и Лепорелло встречаются после очередной авантюры, начинает разговаривать, это не приводит Дон Жуана в мрачное расположение духа. Лишь в последний момент перед смертью смелый и циничный ловелас почувствует страх и неотвратимость наказания…

Индивидуальная трактовка сюжета, сохранившая замысел композитора и либбретиста, обратит внимание зрителя на сегодняшний день с её стремительно меняющейся реальностью и огромными информационными потоками. Символизм, окружающий главных героев, подчеркнёт и усилит смысловую нагрузку оперы, поможет разгадать скрытые смыслы и расшифровать подтексты великого реформатора Моцарта. Интересные режиссёрские находки и неожиданная развязка позволят иначе взглянуть на реалии сегодняшней жизни с её прежними и новыми ценностями.
