The program proposed by Roberto Forés Veses revolves around the theme of musical nationalism. From the Slavonic accents of the 6th Symphony that Dvořák dedicated in 1880 to conductor Hans Richter, to Borodin's fresco highlighting, through their dances, the splendor of the Cumans, a semi-nomadic Turkic people of Central Asia (named Polovtsy by the Russians) in his opera Prince Igor ( 1890 ). As for the atypical and brief Symphony No. 2 with choir by Shostakovich, it was created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the October 1917 Revolution... Flamboyant!
