Euskadiko orkestra: Ein deutsches Requiem Brahms

With texts taken from Luther's Bible, Brahms's German Requiem was initially a controversial creation and not well received in Catholic circles, which was branded as ascetic. But the famous critic Eduard Hanslick did appreciate its value: "It is one of the most mature fruits that has been born of the style of the last Beethoven in the field of sacred music," he wrote. "The harmonic and contrapuntal art that Brahms learned from the Bach school is inspired by the living breath of the present." The German RequiemIt soon became a central page of the symphonic-choral repertoire and, to address it, Euskadiko Orkestra wanted to invite a group of first-rate voices: the soprano Ainhoa ​​Arteta, the baritone Michael Nagy and the Orfeón Pamplonés, which will be the first chorus in returning to our concerts after the pandemic. They will be guided by a director known to our subscribers, Georg Mark.

Con textos tomados de la Biblia de Lutero, el Réquiem Alemán de Brahms fue en sus inicios una creación polémica y no bien recibida en los ambientes católicos, que la tildaron de ascética.
