La Quincena recupera la Missa Solemnis, obra coral por excelencia de Beethoven, y la más difícil de este compositor, técnicamente hablando. Está considerada por algunos como la mejor misa jamás compuesta y no se interpreta en Quincena desde 2003. Bajo la dirección del director francés Jérémie Rhorer, quien fuera discípulo de Marc Minkowski, William Christie y Christopher Hogwood, interpretarán la partitura Euskadiko Orkestra, el Orfeón Donostiarra y los solistas Chen Reiss, Victoria Karkacheva, Maximilian Schmitt y Hanno Müller-Brachmann. Compuesta en paralelo con la 9ª Sinfonía, si bien en el estreno de la sinfonía se interpretaron el Kyrie y el Sanctus, la misa no se estrenó completa hasta 1830, ya fallecido el compositor. Meses antes de dirigirla en la Quincena, Rhorer dirigirá a su conjunto Le Cercle de l’Harmonie en la interpretación de la Missa Solemnis en la Philharmonie de Paris, y estos días dirige el estreno de la La voz humana, una nueva producción del Teatro Real que reúne la obra homónima de Poulenc y Erwartung, de Schönberg.

The Fortnight recovers the Missa Solemnis , Beethoven's choral work par excellence, and the most difficult of this composer, technically speaking. It is considered by some to be the best mass ever composed and has not been performed in Fortnight since 2003. Under the direction of the French conductor Jérémie Rhorer, who was a disciple of Marc Minkowski, William Christie and Christopher Hogwood, the score will be performed by Euskadiko Orkestra, the Orfeón Donostiarra and soloists Chen Reiss, Victoria Karkacheva, Maximilian Schmitt and Hanno Müller-Brachmann. Composed in parallel with the 9th Symphony , although the Kyrie and the Sanctus were performed at the premiere of the symphony , the mass was not premiered in full until 1830, after the composer had died. Months before conducting it at the Fortnight, Rhorer will direct his ensemble Le Cercle de l'Harmonie in the interpretation of the Missa Solemnis at the Philharmonie de Paris, and these days he is directing the premiere of The Human Voice, a new production by the Royal Theater which brings together the work of the same name by Poulenc and Erwartung, by Schönberg.
