In onze wereld is het verhaal van de arme Joodse melkboer Tevje actueler dan ooit. Keer op keer worstelt hij met tradities, met zichzelf en de veranderende wereld om hem heen. 

Het verhaal speelt in het begin van de 20e eeuw in het Russische dorpje Anatevka. Tevje wil, net als iedereen in het dorp, vasthouden aan tradities. Zijn vijf dochters, vrouw, overleden schoonmoeder en zelfs de regering in het verre Moskou zorgen echter dat alles wat altijd zo zeker leek, nu om nieuwe inzichten vraagt. Hoe gaan Tevje, zijn familie en alle inwoners van Anatevka om met deze uitdagingen?

Anatevka is een musical met bekende nummers zoals ‘Als ik toch eens rijk was’ en ‘Traditie’ waarbij misverstanden en intimidatie door de autoriteiten de bezoekers op een humoristische wijze meevoeren door tsaristisch Rusland, waarbij de liefde voor elkaar overwint.

In our world, the story of the poor Jewish milkman Tevye is more topical than ever. Time and again he struggles with traditions, with himself and the changing world around him. 

The story is set in the early 20th century in the Russian village of Anatevka. Tevye, like everyone else in the village, wants to stick to traditions. However, his five daughters, wife, deceased mother-in-law and even the government in faraway Moscow ensure that everything that once seemed so certain now calls for new insights. How do Tevye, his family and all the inhabitants of Anatevka deal with these challenges?

Anatevka is a musical with well-known songs such as 'If only I were rich' and 'Tradition' in which misunderstandings and intimidation by the authorities lead the visitors in a humorous way through tsarist Russia, where love for each other wins.
