Born in 1995, the Latvian pianist Georgijs Osokins gained fame and recognition with his performances during the Chopin Competition. Together with the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic, the artist will present his interpretation of one of Ludwig van Beethoven's piano concertos. The conductor will be Joel Sandelson, winner of the Herbert von Karajan Young Conductors Award in 2021.

In Greek mythology, Prometheus was one of the Titans. Due to the fact that he stole fire from the gods and gave it to people, he was considered a protector of crafts and a symbol of progress. No wonder that his character turned out to be an inspiration for Ludwig van Beethoven, who dedicated his only ballet work to him, entitled The Creations of Prometheus . They were first staged in 1801 at the Viennese Burgtheater. During the concert, an orchestral introduction to this work will be played. Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major is a composition that was presented in 1807 during a private concert at the estate of the artist's patron, Prince Franz Joseph von Lobkowitz. The audience had the opportunity to hear him a year later at the Theater an der Wien during an extraordinary concert. V was also premiered at that timeand the Sixth Symphony and the Choral Fantasy , and the composer undertook to play the solo part. Soon after, his hearing deteriorated so much that it turned out to be his last public appearance as a pianist. Although the Concerto in G major is a light and lyrical work, it contains many revolutionary elements, such as the presentation of the main material by the piano, and not by the orchestra, which had hitherto been the case in instrumental concertos. In the second movement, the violent entrances of the strings are contrasted with the gentle and lyrical part of the piano. The narrative gradually calms down, and one of the composer's early biographers compared the passage to the image of Orpheus Taming the Wild Beasts.

The second part of the concert will open with a dignified, austere introduction to Parsifal , which turned out to be Richard Wagner's last completed work. The composer did not call it an opera or a musical drama, but a solemn stage mystery. The prelude contains several recurring elements in the further development of the action of the work. One of them is a motif symbolizing the Grail, which is a quote from Dresden's amen , a liturgical melody that Wagner had a great fondness for. It also appears in two of his other works – Zazaza miłość and Tannhäuser . In the final concert, the artists will present the one-movement Symphony No. 7 in C majorJean Sibelius from 1924. Among the most characteristic elements of this composition is a solemn theme played by trombones, called the "Aino theme". Sibelius was fascinated by the work of Wagner, and right at the beginning of this work there is an allusion to one of his widely recognized compositions - Tristan und Isolde .

Wraz z NFM Filharmonią Wrocławską artysta zaprezentuje swoją interpretację jednego z koncertów fortepianowych Ludwiga van Beethovena. Za pulpitem dyrygenckim stanie Joel Sandelson, triumfator Herbert von Karajan Young Conductors Award w 2021 roku.

W mitologii greckiej Prometeusz był jednym z tytanów. Ze względu na wykradzenie bogom ognia i przekazanie go ludziom uznawano go za opiekuna rzemiosł i symbol postępu. Nic dziwnego, że jego postać okazała się inspirująca dla Ludwiga van Beethovena, który poświęcił mu swoje jedyne dzieło baletowe, zatytułowane Twory Prometeusza. Wystawiono je po raz pierwszy w 1801 roku w wiedeńskim Burgtheater. Podczas koncertu zabrzmi orkiestrowy wstęp do tego utworu. IV Koncert fortepianowy G-dur Beethovena to kompozycja, którą zaprezentowano w 1807 roku podczas prywatnego koncertu w posiadłości patrona artysty, księcia Franza Josepha von Lobkowitza. Publiczność miała okazję posłuchać go rok później w Theater an der Wien podczas niezwykłego koncertu. Prawykonano wtedy także V i VI Symfonię oraz Fantazję chóralną, a kompozytor podjął się zagrania partii solowej. Niedługo później jego słuch pogorszył się tak bardzo, że okazało się, że był to jego ostatni publiczny występ w charakterze pianisty. Chociaż Koncert G-dur jest dziełem lekkim i lirycznym, to zawiera wiele rewolucyjnych elementów, jak prezentacja głównego materiału przez fortepian, a nie przez orkiestrę, co dotychczas miało miejsce w koncertach instrumentalnych. W drugiej części gwałtowne wejścia smyczków przeciwstawione są łagodnej i lirycznej partii fortepianu. Narracja stopniowo uspokaja się, a jeden z wczesnych biografów kompozytora porównał ten fragment do obrazu Orfeusza poskramiającego dzikie bestie.

Drugą część koncertu otworzy dostojny, surowy wstęp do Parsifala, który okazał się ostatnim ukończonym utworem Richarda Wagnera. Kompozytor nie nazwał go zresztą operą ani dramatem muzycznym, a uroczystym misterium scenicznym. Preludium zawiera kilka elementów powracających w dalszym rozwoju akcji dzieła. Jednym z nich jest motyw symbolizujący Graala, będący cytatem z Drezdeńskiego amen, melodii liturgicznej, którą Wagner darzył wielkim sentymentem. Pojawia się ona także w dwóch innych jego utworach – w Zakazie miłości oraz w Tannhäuserze. W finalne koncertu artyści zaprezentują jednoczęściową VII Symfonię C-dur Jeana Sibeliusa z 1924 roku. Do najbardziej charakterystycznych elementów tej kompozycji należy uroczysty temat grany przez puzony, nazywany „tematem Aino”. Sibeliusa fascynowała twórczość Wagnera, a zaraz na początku tego utworu pojawia się aluzja do jednej z jego powszechnie rozpoznawanych kompozycji – Tristana i Izoldy.
