Giuseppe Albanese plays Debussy - Suite bergamasque: Passepied

Tra i più richiesti pianisti della sua generazione, Giuseppe Albanese debutta nel 2014 sull’etichetta Deutsche Grammophon con un concept album dal titolo Fantasia, con musiche di Beethoven, Schubert e Schumann. Segue nel 2015 il suo secondo album Après une lecture de Liszt, interamente dedicato al compositore ungherese. Nel marzo 2016 Decca Classics inserisce nel box con l’opera omnia di Bartók in 32 dischi la sua registrazione (in prima mondiale) del brano Változatok (Variazioni). È stato invitato per recital e concerti con orchestra da autorevoli istituzioni internazionali quali, tra gli altri, Metropolitan Museum, Rockefeller University e Steinway Hall di New York; Auditorium Amijai di Buenos Aires; Cenart di Mexico City; Konzerthaus di Berlino; Laeiszhalle di Amburgo; Philharmonie di Essen; Mozarteum di Salisburgo; St. Martin in the Fields e Steinway Hall di Londra; Salle Cortot di Parigi; Filarmonica di San Pietroburgo; Filharmonia Narodowa di Varsavia; la Gulbenkian di Lisbona. Ha collaborato con direttori quali C. Arming, J. Axelrod, F. Chaslin, J. Conlon, L. Foster, W. Humburg, D. Jurowski, J. Kovatchev, A. Lombard, N. Luisotti, O. Maga, F. Mastrangelo, H. Nanasi, A. Tra i festival, di particolare rilievo gli inviti al Winter Arts Square di Yuri Temirkanov a San Pietroburgo, al Castleton di Lorin Maazel (USA), all’Internazionale di Brescia e Bergamo e al MiTo SettembreMusica, alla Biennale Musica di Venezia, oltre che al Mittlefest, il Tiroler Festspiele di Erl, il Festival di Colmar, En Blanco y Negro di Mexico City, il Festival di Sintra (Portogallo), il Tongyeong Festival (Corea). In Italia ha suonato per tutte le più importanti stagioni concertistiche e nei più importanti teatri.
Prima di Fantasia e Après une lecture de Liszt, Albanese ha riscosso singolare successo con il CD monografico con musiche di Debussy pubblicato nel 2012 per il mensile Amadeus. Il suo CD 1900 – Yearbooks of 20th Century Piano, dedicato all’anno solare 1900 e contenente musiche di Skrjabin, Szymanowski, MacDowell e la prima registrazione assoluta delle Variazioni di Bartók è stato recensito come CD del mese dal mensile Suonare News e ha ottenuto 5 stelle sia nel giudizio tecnico che artistico dal mensile Amadeus.
Già “Premio Venezia” 1997 e Premio speciale per la miglior esecuzione dell’opera contemporanea al “Busoni” di Bolzano, Albanese vince nel 2003 il Primo Premio al “Vendome Prize” (presidente di giuria Sir J. Tate).
Albanese è laureato in Filosofia col massimo dei voti e la lode (con dignità di stampa della tesi sull’Estetica di Liszt nelle Années de Pèlerinage) e, a soli 25 anni, è stato docente a contratto di Metodologia della comunicazione musicale presso l’Università di Messina. Insegna attualmente Pianoforte al Conservatorio “Tartini” di Trieste.

Before Fantasia and Après une lecture de Liszt , Albanese had singular success with the monographic CD with music by Debussy published in 2012 for the monthly magazine Amadeus. His CD Di lui 1900 – Yearbooks of 20th Century Piano, dedicated to the calendar year 1900 and containing music by Skrjabin, Szymanowski, MacDowell and the first ever recording of Bartók's Variations was reviewed as CD of the month by the monthly Suonare News and obtained 5 stars both in the technical and artistic judgment by the monthly Amadeus .
