As "Munich Boys", the musicians of the Goldmund Quartet are undoubtedly among the favorites of the Munich audience. This is by no means surprising, since they grew up in the Bavarian metropolis and thus appeal not least to a young chamber music audience of the same age. Winner of first prize at the prestigious Melbourne Chamber Music Competition in 2018, the Goldmund Quartet was nominated as a "Rising Stars" by the European Concert Hall Organization for the 2019/20 season. In addition, the Jürgen Ponto Foundation for the Promotion of Young Artists awards its fifth music prize 2020, which includes invitations to concert appearances at the Beethoven Festival Bonn, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Kissinger Sommer and the Heidelberg Spring, to the Goldmund Quartet. Thanks to a generous loan from the Nippon Music Foundation, the Goldmund Quartet has been playing on Antonio Stradivari's "Paganini Quartet" since the 2019/20 season. These four instruments are named after the legendary violinist Niccoló Paganini, who owned them in the 19th century and kept them until his death.
