The Twilight of the Gods, premiered at the Bayreuth Festival in 1876, is the third day of the Ring of the Nibelung and the musical drama that closes the Wagnerian Tetralogy.

This work is the most tragic and dark of the saga. The world of the gods with its murders, incests, betrayals and debauchery is burned down to return to its origin, at the bottom of the Rhine.

The kingdom of the gods is succeeded by a new world, that of man emancipated from divine laws. The work is full of beautiful musical moments that have served as a soundtrack for the cinema: "Siegfried's trip along the Rhine", the overwhelming Funeral March or the final scene, known as "The immolation of Brünnhilde", an epilogue to a of the great works of Western art history.
