Nina Šenk (née en 1982) croit aux pouvoirs des timbres, des harmonies et des rythmes pour eux-mêmes, indépendamment de tout argument extérieur à la musique ; c’est pourquoi elle a baptisé Elements, très sobrement, la pièce que nous entendrons au début de ce concert. Plus familier bien sûr est le Double concerto de Brahms, emmené ici par deux virtuoses qui n’ont jamais rien abdiqué du souci de l’expression et du lyrisme. Pour finir le concert, Aziz Shokhakimov dirigera l’un des piliers du répertoire orchestral. Saint-Saëns dirigea en personne la création de sa Troisième Symphonie à Londres, quelques semaines avant la mort de Liszt, à qui est dédiée cette œuvre qui s’achève en manière d’apothéose.

Nina Šenk (b. 1982) believes in the powers of timbres, harmonies and rhythms for themselves, independent of any argument outside the music; this is why she baptized Elements , very soberly, the piece that we will hear at the beginning of this concert. More familiar of course is Brahms' Double Concerto , taken here by two virtuosos who have never abdicated any concern for expression and lyricism. To end the concert, Aziz Shokhakimov will conduct one of the pillars of the orchestral repertoire. Saint-Saëns personally conducted the premiere of his Third Symphony in London, a few weeks before the death of Liszt, to whom this work is dedicated, which ends in an apotheosis.
