Akbank Oda Orkestrası’nın saygın ve yurtdışında da büyük başarılara imza atan şefi Cem Mansur, geniş bir yelpazeyi kapsayan repertuarında sıradışı eserlere yer vermesiyle tanınıyor. Program içeriği, dinamizmi ve icra kalitesi açısından özel bir yere sahip olan Akbank Oda Orkestrası bu konserde dünyaca ünlü viyolonsel sanatçısı Antonio Meneses’e eşlik edecek. 1982 yılında Tchaikovsky Yarışması’nda aldığı birincilik ve altın madalya ile müzik dünyasına damgasını vurmuş olan Meneses, kariyeri boyunca başta Karajan olmak üzere Muti, Jansons, Abbado, Previn, Temirkanov, Rostropovitch gibi şeflerle aynı sahneyi paylaştı. Doğumunun 200. yılında Schumann’ın Viyolonsel Konçertosu’nu seslendirileceği bu konserde, 2010’da 75. yaşını kutlayan Arvo Part’in 4. Senfonisi’nin Türkiye prömiyeri de gerçekleştirilecek. Her iki besteciye de bir saygı duruşu niteliği taşıyan bu konser, şimdiden ayakta alkışlanmaya aday!

A unique ensemble with their programmes, dynamism and quality of performance, Akbank Chamber Orchestra will accompany the world renowned cellist Antonio Meneses in this concert. Making his mark on the music world with the first prize and the gold medal he won at the Tchaikovsky Competition in 1982, Meneses has shared the stage with conductors like Karajan and Muti, Jansons, Abbado, Previn, Temirkanov, Rostropovitch throughout his career. Featuring the Violoncello Concerto of Schumann whose 200th birthday is commemorated this year, the concert will also present the Turkish premier of the Symphony, No.4 by Arvo Pärt who is celebrating his 75th birthday in 2010.
