Die Besonderheit dieser ausgegewähnlichen Veranstaltung liegt einerseits in der beginnenden Partnerschaft unseren Vereins mit dem tschechischen Verein "Studio Volantes", Veranstalter des berühmten Barockfestivals in Olomouc, sowie den slowenischen Regisseur Rocc, andererseits die Erst- Wiederaufführung des Werkes eines der bedeutendsten Komponisten der Wiener Klassik, der aber in Schlesien tätig war.

Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf wurde im Jahr 1739 in Wien geboren, und lernte auf Violine. Tatsächlich begleitete er Christoph Willibald Gluck auf seine Italienreise 1783 wo er als Violinvirtuose große Erfolge feierte. 1770 wurde Ditters Kapellmeister des Fürstbischof von Breslau, Philipp Gotthard von Schaffhotsch, auf Schloss Johannesberg (Jarsky Vrch) in Jauernig (Javornik). Der Ort befindet sich gleich an der Grenze zu Polen, im Glatzer Land, ein Ort mit einer großen Tradition für Theater und Musik. Tatsächlich der Breslauer Bischof wollte diesen Ort zum Kulturzentrum machen, und gab an Carl Ditters die Aufgabe dort ein Orchester zu bilden und Musik zu schreiben.

1773 wurde er vom Kaiser geadelt, und ihm wurde (so wie bei Mozart) der Orden vom Goldenen Sporn vom Paps verliehen. Um 1790 wurde er zum Kapellmeister des Herzogs Carl Christian Erdmann von Würtennberg-Oels (1716-1792) in Oels (Olesnica). In den Sommermonaten musizierte diese Kapelle in Carlsruhe (Oberschlesien), das damals die Sommerresidenz des Herzogs war.  Er starb 1799 in Neuhof bei Deschna ( Deštná, Südböhmen) nachdem er seine Autobiografie seinem Sohn diktiert hat, heute eine wichtige Quelle von Informationen über die Musik seiner Zeit. Er schrieb um die 32 Opern und Singspiele, viele Konzerte (dazwischen zwei Kontrabasskonzerte), 12 Sinfonien, Trios, Quartette und Klavierstücke, Divertimenti, Oratorien, Ballete und andere Kirchenmusik.

Szenisches Oratorium (1771 - Jánský vrch)

Das Oratorium (1770) behandelt das biblische Thema des Kampfes zwischen David und Goliath, der im Tal von Elch (auch der Terebinthen genannt) stattgefunden hat. Die Geschichte wird im Buch Samuel 17-51 erzählt.

The special feature of this particular event lies on the one hand in the beginning partnership of our association with the Czech association "Studio Volantes", organizer of the baroque festival in Olomouc, and the Slovenian stage director Rocc, on the other hand the first performance of this rediscovered oratorio of one of the most important composers of Viennese classicism, who was active in Silesia and Bohemia.

Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf was born in Vienna in 1739 and learned composition and violin as well. In fact, he accompanied Christoph Willibald Gluck on his trip to Italy in 1763, where he celebrated great success as a violin virtuoso. In 1770 Ditters became Kapellmeister to the Prince-Bishop of Breslau, Philipp Gotthard von Schaffhotsch, at Johannisberg Castle (Jansky Vrch) in Jauernig (Javornik).

The place is right on the border with Poland, in Klodzko Land, a place with a great tradition of theater and music. In fact, the Bishop of Wrocław wanted to turn this place into a cultural center and gave Carl Ditters the task of forming an orchestra and writing music there.

In 1773 he was ennobled by the Emperor, and (like Mozart) he was awarded the Order of the Golden Spur by the Pope. Around 1790 he became Kapellmeister to Duke Carl Christian Erdmann von Würtennberg-Oels (1716-1792) in Oels (Olesnica) in Lower Silesia. In the summer months, this orchestra  played music in Carlsruhe (today Pokój in Upper Silesia), which was the duke's summer residence at the time.  He died in 1799 in Neuhof near Deschna ( Deštná, South Bohemia) after dictating his autoniography to his son, today an important source of information about the music of his time. He wrote 32 operas and singspiele, many concerts (two double bass concerts in between), 12 symphonies, trios, Quertatte and piano pieces, divertimenti, oratorios, ballets and other church music. Among his pupils: Wenzel Müller and Johann Baptist Wanhal.

The oratorio deals with the biblical theme of the battle between David and Goliath that took place in the Valley of Elah (also called the Terebinths). The story is told in the book of Samuel 17-51.
