The world premiere of a new opera by Britain’s leading composer, Jonathan Dove, and librettist Alasdair Middleton, with designs by Frankie Bradshaw and lighting by Jake Wiltshire. Based on Simon Mayo’s novels, and custom-made for an unbeatable ensemble cast, Itch is an element-hunting adventure story. Director Stephen Barlow (Tosca, 2007, Flight, 2015) and conductor Jessica Cottis (The Cunning Little Vixen, 2021) join Natasha Agarwal, Rebecca Bottone, Eric Greene, Robert Burt, James Laing, Victoria Simmonds and Nicholas Garrett, as Adam Temple-Smith’s Itchingham Lofte attempts to save the world from element 126, and save element 126 from the world.
