Countertenor Jakub Orliński is a devoted fan of Baroque music. “To me, it means freedom, because composers like Handel leave many decisions to the singer, so I can express my personality.” With his clear, yet darkly timbred voice, the Polish singer has established himself in just a few years as one of the leading interpreters of Handel. In this programme, accompanied on the piano by his fellow countryman Michał Biel, he proves that he also has a brilliant command of music by other composers and periods, with works by Purcell, Handel, Fux, Karłowicz and Czyż.
