Pacsrác Kacsóh's highly successful song, The Knight János, returned to the Budapest Operetta Theater after 40 years!

The overwhelming success of the play at the King's theater premiere in 1904, based on the narrative poem of Sándor Petőfi, surprised even the creators. The stage was bubbly, sometimes reassuring, the audience was bright, laughing, and then, during Bagó's touchingly beautiful song, crying had already escaped the audience. At the end of the song, they demanded a replay, but the repetition was a bit awaited, because tears streamed down the face of Mihály Papp, who played Bagó. The touching love story of Jancsi and Iluska Kukorica, a song playing rich in motifs from the wonderful Hungarian folk tales, which faithfully follows the original work - and which has been a recurring success for domestic and cross-border stages for more than a hundred years - can be seen again at the Budapest Operetta Theater.
