In theater season 17/18, Baroque Opera Amsterdam presents Henry Purcell's successful performance King Arthur . Conducted by Frédérique Chauvet and in collaboration with the talented director Sybrand van der Werf, a new performance has been developed in which a minimum of well-chosen scenic means results in a maximum theatrical effect.

All lyrics are chosen from King Arthur's original libretto. We alternately play John Dryden's poetic English language or, if the audience has to follow the action immediately, a translation into Dutch by one translator, Dr Toon van Wolferen
