To create this jubilant delirium of two-act music with phenomenal energy, Rossini asked his librettist Jacopo Ferretti to rid Perrault's tale of its magical elements. True to his reputation, in just three weeks he created a comedy triumph: of Don Magnifico's three daughters, Clorinda, Tisbé and Angelina (known as Cenerentola), which is the most beautiful and the most generous? Faced with her two pestilent sisters, Angelina will know how to guide the choice of Prince Ramiro, in search of the ideal woman. It will still be necessary to find Angelina after her hasty departure from the ball. A clue, however, should put him on the way to facilitate the reunion of lovers and the triumph of happiness.
