Choć to nie Louis Couperin, a jego siostrzeniec François zyskał przydomek Wielki, to i muzyce Louisa – nestora rodu wybitnych muzyków – nie brak oryginalności. Obok osiągnięć na gruncie twórczości organowej, na pierwszy plan wysuwają się jego dzieła klawesynowe z preludiami niemenzurowanymi na czele. Louis Couperin jest jednym z pierwszych twórców tego typu kompozycji. Preludia, tradycyjnie wykonywane jako wstęp do suit i innych utworów, najczęściej były improwizowane, jednak Louis pozostawił je potomnym w formie kompozycji zanotowanych – w dość zagadkowy sposób. Ich zapis zawiera bowiem jedynie strukturę interwałową, pozbawioną rytmu. Ostateczne brzmienie utworu zależy więc od talentu interpretatora, a także jego wiedzy z zakresu kontrapunktu. Co więcej, przybierają one niekiedy niezwykle wyrafinowaną postać – jak w przypadku Preludium a-moll, którego początek stanowi cytat z toccaty Johanna Jacoba Frobergera, zaś środkowy fragment ma fugowany charakter. Utwór jest hołdem złożonym wielkiemu niemieckiemu twórcy, którego Couperin podziwiał i na którym się wzorował.  

W programie koncertu obok kunsztownych preludiów znalazły się także przepiękne suity. Pod względem podejścia do formy nie odbiegają one od obowiązujących w XVIII wieku norm, niemniej zachwycają bogactwem harmonicznym i inwencją w zakresie polifonii. Tajemnice pełnej niuansów muzyki Louisa Couperina odkryje przed publicznością wybitny klawesynista, znawca muzyki dawnej – Władysław Kłosiewicz.

Although it is not Louis Couperin, but his nephew Fran çois gained the nickname of the Great, and the music of Louis - the doyen of the family of outstanding musicians - is full of originality. In addition to his achievements in the field of organ music, his harpsichord works with non-censored preludes come to the fore. Louis Couperin is one of the first authors of this type of composition. The preludes, traditionally performed as an introduction to suites and other pieces, were most often improvised, but Louis left them to posterity in the form of notated compositions - in a rather mysterious way. Their notation contains only an interval structure, devoid of rhythm. The final sound of the piece depends, therefore, on the talent of the interpreter, as well as his knowledge of counterpoint. What's more, they sometimes take a very refined form - as in the case of the Prelude in A minor, the middle fragment has a fused character. The piece is a tribute to the great German composer whom Couperin admired and modeled on.  

Apart from elaborate preludes, the concert program also included beautiful suites. In terms of the approach to form, they do not differ from the norms in force in the 18th century, but they delight with harmonic richness and inventiveness in terms of polyphony. Władysław Kłosiewicz, an outstanding harpsichordist and expert in early music, will reveal to the audience the secrets of Louis Couperin's music, full of nuances.
