Today, the premiere of the updated version of the opera Love Potion will take place in the Small Hall of Zaryadye. The classical plot of the opera will become even closer to the modern audience: the authors of the production managed to transfer the action of the opera to our days, thus emphasizing the relevance of the difficult love relationships of the main characters.   

 “We set ourselves the task of looking at the history of Love Potion with a fresh eye. And very soon we will present an updated reading of the beloved story - less comedic, deeper and more dramatic, ”explains the director of the production Konstantin Kamynin . 

The opera L'elisir d'amore was written by the great Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti in 1832. The storyline is based on the vicissitudes of love between the beautiful Adina and Nemorino, who is in love with her. The young man is convinced of the power of the elixir of love, which later turns out to be ordinary wine.

The updated version of the opera will fill the relationship of the main characters with new shades. Once a comedic performance, this time "Love Potion" promises to surprise the viewer with the subtle psychology of human relations and the depth of the drama unfolding on the stage. The musical accompaniment of the opera will be presented by the Chamber Symphony Orchestra of the Conlucia Theater under the direction of conductor Nikolai Tsinman.
