Gaetano Donizettis urkomische und romantische Komödie mit ihren facettenreichen Melodien wurde schon während der Uraufführung 1832 in Mailand zu einem der größten Erfolge in seiner Karriere. Bis heute zählt „L’elisir d’amore“ zu den beliebtesten Belcanto-Opern, nicht zuletzt durch die traumhafte Tenorarie „Una furtiva lagrima“, in der Nemorinos Hoffnung auf das Liebesglück durch eine „verstohlene Träne“ in Adinas Augen erneut geweckt wird. Nach dem immensen Erfolg in Madrid, Valencia und Brüssel ist die temporeiche Inszenierung von Damiano Michieletto, der „L’elisir d’amore“ als humorvolle Strandparty mit einer frischen Brise Witz und einem Schuss Erotik zeigt, nun erstmals in Deutschland an der Oper Köln zu erleben. Dirigent Matteo Beltrami kehrt nach seinem fulminanten „Cenerentola“-Dirigat (2022.23) zurück ans Pult des Gürzenich-Orchesters. Gaetano Donizetti's hilarious and romantic comedy with its multifaceted melodies became one of the greatest successes of his career when it premiered in Milan in 1832. To this day, "L'elisir d'amore" is one of the most popular bel canto operas, not least because of the dreamy tenor aria "Una furtiva lagrima", in which Nemorino's hope for happiness in love is reawakened by a "stolen tear" in Adina's eyes. After the immense success in Madrid, Valencia and Brussels, the fast-paced production by Damiano Michieletto, who shows "L'elisir d'amore" as a humorous beach party with a fresh pinch of wit and a dash of eroticism, is now available for the first time in Germany at the Cologne Opera experience. Conductor Matteo Beltrami returns to the podium of the Gürzenich Orchestra after his brilliant "Cenerentola" (2022.23). A Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía Valencia and Teatro Real Madrid production.
