In the courtyard of the house of the widow - Maysara's aunt, young lovers meet: Maysara's nephew, the shepherd Chubon, and a beautiful girl from a poor family, Oykhon. They are being watched by an old kaziy (judge) and Khoji Darga (chief of the guard). The guardians of the law decide to arrest a shepherd who violated Sharia law, and thereby facilitate their access to the beauty. The guards sent by them burst into Maysara's house. After they leave with the arrested Maysara, the judge kidnaps Oykhon.
Maysara is sad in the basement of the judge's house. Chubon makes his way to her, urging her to run. But Maysara refuses. She wants to snatch Oihon out of the hands of the judge. The appeared judge promises the release of Maysara if she refuses the money that he owes her. Maysara agrees.
Oykhon angrily rejects the advances of the old voluptuary. The judge complains to Maysara about the girl's disobedience. Maysara undertakes to persuade the beauty and seeks to meet with her. Having initiated the girl into her cunning plan, Maysara informs the judge that Oykhon agrees to everything.
In the courtyard of Maysara, preparations are underway to welcome the "distinguished guests". The first is the judge. As soon as he has time to sit down, there is a thunderous bang at the door. An agitated Maysara reports that her nephew has unexpectedly returned. Judge Maysar, trembling with fear, hides in a bull's skin. The cunning widow does the same with other contenders for love Oykh
