The operetta was partly inspired by the life of the author himself. With an uncompromising dose of exaggeration, parody and insight, it depicts the scenes of three completely different environments, such as a monastery, a theater and a barracks, in which the main characters Célestin alias Floridor and the hideout of the monastery Denisa de Flavigny move with an extraordinary talent to complicate an already confusing situation. The operetta had its premiere in 1883 and is considered the most successful opus of the composer Florimond Hervé. Already after its premiere, "Miss Netýkavka" flew around the world and is still rightfully among the most popular titles of its genre.

Opereta byla zčásti inspirována životem samotného autora. S nekompromisní dávkou nadsázky, parodie a nadhledu vykresluje zákulisí třech zcela rozdílných prostředí, jakými jsou klášter, divadlo a kasárna, ve kterých se hlavní postavy Célestin alias Floridor a schovanka kláštera Denisa de Flavigny pohybují s mimořádným talentem zkomplikovat již tak nepřehlednou situaci. Opereta měla svou premiéru roku 1883 a je považována za nejzdařilejší opus skladatele Florimonda Hervého. Již po své premiéře obletěla „Slečna Netýkavka“ celý svět a dodnes patří právem mezi nejuváděnější tituly svého žánru.
