Η σύγχρονη όπερα Μάρνι του Nico Muhly, βασισμένη σε μυθιστόρημα του Winston Graham, που είχε εμπνεύσει το γεμάτο σασπένς θρίλερ του Hitchcock, κάνει φέτος πρεμιέρα στη Met και στο πρόγραμμα Live in HD. H Isabel Leonard εμφανίζεται στον ομώνυμο ρόλο, με τον Christopher Maltman στον ρόλο του εκβιαστή συζύγου Μαρκ Ρούτλαντ, τον Iestyn Davies στον ρόλο του αδελφού του Τέρι, την Janis Kelly ως Κυρία Ρούτλαντ και την περίφημη mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves στον ρόλο της μητέρας της Μάρνι. Ο Robert Spano κάνει το ντεμπούτο του ως Διευθυντής ορχήστρας.

Contemporary opera Marnie by Nico Muhly, based on the novel by Winston Graham which inspired Hitchcock’s suspense-filled thriller, will premier this year at the Met and on the Live in HD programme. Isabel Leonard plays the title role, with Christopher Maltman in the role of blackmailing husband Mark Rutland, Iestyn Davies as his brother Terry, Janis Kelly as Mrs Rutland, and the renowned mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves as Marnie’s mother. Robert Spano débuts as orchestra Conductor.
Marnie is a collaboration and co-production with the English National Opera, which initially performed it in 2017.
