Georg Friedrich Handel's »Messiah« (The Messiah) represents the successful interweaving of sensitive piety and sensual baroque splendor like hardly any other work in music history. The impressive panorama from the announcement of the birth of Jesus through the Christmas and Passion story to the Easter resurrection culminates in a jubilant glorification of the Redeemer figure. The stylistically so versatile RIAS Chamber Choir and a selected soloist quartet present the work with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin under the musical direction of Justin Doyle.
