Beim diesjährigen Auftritt bei WIEN MODERN stehen gleich zwei Erstaufführungen am Programm: die Uraufführung von James Clarkes Klavierkonzert "Untitled No. 8" sowie die österreichische Erstaufführung von Olga Neuwirths Schlagwerkkonzert "Trurliade-Zone Zero" mit dem einzigartigen Martin Grubinger als Solisten. Klassiker und Wegbereiter der Moderne von Ives bis Ravel runden das Programm ab. Anmerkung: Martin Grubinger musste aus gesundheitlichen Gründen absagen. Wir danken Victor Hanna, der sich bereit erkärt hat, das Schlagwerk-Solo in der Erstaufführung von Olga Neuwirths "Trurliade – Zone Zero" zu übernehmen. Dieses Konzert wird im Rahmen einer Kooperation zwischen den Wiener Symphonikern, der Wiener Konzerthausgesellschaft und dem Festival WIEN MODERN durchgeführt.

After the historical detour made in the concerts directly preceding it, the series will head off into the contemporary. This year's performance at Wien Modern will feature not one but two premieres: the world premiere of James Clarke's Piano Concerto Untitled No. 8 and the Austrian premiere of Olga Neuwirth's Percussion Concerto "Trurliade-Zone Zero" with the unique Martin Grubinger as soloist. Classics of Modernity from Ives to Ravel complete the programme. Please note: Unfortunately Martin Grubinger had to cancel his participation at the closing concert of the WIEN MODERN festival due to health reasons. Percussionist Victor Hanna kindly takes over the Austrian premiere of Olga Neuwirth's "Trurliade – Zone Zero". Relief méta-sonore for solo percussion and orchestra. This concert is presented as part of a cooperation between the Wiener Symphonike, the Wiener Konzerthaus Society and the Festival WIEN MODERN.
