Icelandic composer Anna Thorvaldsdottir is internationally renowned for her dense and sonorous music. ARCHORA had its world premiere at the BBC Proms 2022 and is performed here for the first time in Sweden with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra under Finnish conductor Eva Ollikainen who also leads hornist Chris Parkes in Danish composer Hans Abrahamsen’s Concerto for Horn and Orchestra. The concert concludes with Jean Sibelius fifth symphony which had its premiere on the composer’s fiftieth birthday 1915.
