An exceptional evening in the Cologne Philharmonie. Not only because Vincenzo Bellini's "Norma" is one of the central musical theater works of the 19th century. But also because of the outstanding cast. Michael Spyres, for example, is one of the most exciting opera singers of our time. His vocal abilities are not limited to the tenor. He masters demanding baritone parts just as effortlessly. Spyres is "a phenomenon, a world in itself," according to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. The Ensemble Resonanz fuels the excess of bel canto from the instrumental side.
