Carnegie Hall’s NYO Jazz is an extraordinary big band comprising some of the best young jazz players from across the United States. NEA Jazz Master and Grammy-winning vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater joins as special guest in the band’s BBC Proms debut. This special, late-night performance showcases jazz as a limitless art form that bridges genres and generations, featuring timeless jazz standards; big-band gems by Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, and Roy Hargrove; and contemporary pieces that explore jazz’s influence on hip-hop, R&B, and pop.
