In this friendly Oklahoma farming community, the days are hot and the girls are cute. But beneath the dust from the spinning surrey wheels lurks unpredictability and mistrust. Darling Laurey’s dreams of happy-go-lucky cowboy Curly McLain are tainted by the dubious and dangerous farm hand, Jud Fry. His threatening presence casts a shadow over the entire box dance. Friendly fundraising turns to fighting and bravado takes a dangerous turn in this toe-tapping musical full of recognizable hits like “The Surrey with the Fringe on Top”, “People Will Say We’re In Love”, “Oh! What a Beautiful Mornin'”, and of course, the rousing title tune.
