The actress is dating a young lover. Her husband, the head of the troupe, is seized with jealousy: “Laugh, clown, at broken love!” Right during the performance, he kills both.

Pagliacci is an opera about the theatre, and the production combines three of its plans: a traditional, even primitive commedia dell'arte is performed by a touring troupe, real passions rage among its actors, on today's stage all this "theater within the theater" is represented by our artists.

Events unfold in the rehearsal room, dressing rooms and on stage. The director moves the action into a modern theatrical space - after all, human nature does not change, and such events can occur at any time.

For the duration of the performance, the actors "die" in order to live in their characters. But where is the line between man and mask? If the actor is unable to separate himself and the role, tragedy bursts into life ...
