Vandaag speelt Volodin werk van een van zijn favoriete componisten: Chopin. Zijn albums met diens solowerken kregen geweldige kritieken. Vandaag soleert Volodin in het sprankelende Eerste pianoconcert bij het Symfonie Orkest Vlaanderen. Dit concert opent met de concertouverture Die Hebriden van Felix Mendelssohn.

Chopin schreef zijn Eerste pianoconcert toen hij net twintig was. Hij was toen al een sterpianist die grotendeels zelfstandig het vak had geleerd. Volodin soleert in dit sprankelende pianowerk bij het Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen. De Poolse Marzena Diakun leidt het werk. Na een dromerig middendeel (Chopin zelf suggereerde maanlicht en een lentenacht) volgt een energiek slot, gebaseerd op de Poolse dans krakoviak.

Today Volodin plays work by one of his favorite composers: Chopin. His albums of his solo works received great critical acclaim. Today Volodin is the soloist in the sparkling Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Flanders Symphony Orchestra. This concert opens with the concert overture Die Hebrides by Felix Mendelssohn.

Chopin wrote his First Piano Concerto when he was just twenty. At that time he was already a star pianist who had largely learned the trade independently. Volodin is the soloist in this sparkling piano work with the Flanders Symphony Orchestra. The Polish Marzena Diakun leads the work. After a dreamy middle section (Chopin himself suggested moonlight and a spring night), an energetic conclusion follows, based on the Polish dance Krakoviak.
