The sensation of this episode of Pieces of Tomorrow is the appearance of Edo de Waart, a conductor with an impressive, international track record and honorary conductor of the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. On the program: the Third alias "Scottish" symphony by Mendelssohn.
Felix Mendelssohn summarized the impressions of his vacation spent in Scotland as a 20-year-old in his Third symphony. The rugged highlands, the famous abbey ruins in Edinburgh and even the bagpipes - the most hideous instrument he had ever heard - pass by in this work.
You will listen to it in this Pieces of Tomorrow, just a little later in the evening, with a drink in your hand, a short introduction by the musicians, supporting visuals and DJ St. Paul as host.
