En aquesta ocasió, el Festival de Peralada ha convidat la cantant catalana per a un sentit homenatge a Victoria de los Ángeles, una de les grans sopranos de tots els temps de veu pura i expressiva i de gran intel·ligència musical, en el marc del centenari del seu naixement. Acompanyada al piano per Rubén Fernández Aguirre, la soprano interpretarà un recital únic expressament confeccionat per a Peralada. Cantar el alma, en referència a la composició de Frederic Mompou per a veu i piano a partir del poema Cantar del alma (Aunque es de noche) de Sant Joan de la Creu, pretén ser un viatge catàrtic a la memòria i al record de Victoria de los Ángeles, a través d’un mosaic perfectament construït a partir de cançons de Campra, Scarlatti, Schubert, Fauré, Ravel, Granados, Montsalvatge, Toldrà i Mompou. Un bell record a Victoria de los Ángeles, així com una celebració de l’amor a la música en majúscules. La veu exquisida de Rial, combinada amb l’acompanyament sensible i dinàmic d’Aguirre, de ben segur que crearà una experiència musical inoblidable per al públic d’aquest festival.
