Das Baur au Lac wurde während Richard Wagners Zürcher Zeit zweimal zum Schauplatz denkwürdiger Aufführungen: Zunächst las Wagner die gesamte Dichtung zum Ring des Nibelungen hier vor, später brachte er den ersten Akt der Walküre mit Franz Liszt am Klavier hier zur Uraufführung; er selbst sang dabei die Partien des Hunding und des Siegmund. Nun erklingen an diesem historischen Ort, im Le Petit Palais des Baur au Lac, das Siegfried-Idyll sowie die in Zürich entstandenen Lieder auf Texte von Mathilde Wesendonck. Im Anschluss an das Konzert lockt ein Lunch mit kulinarischen Höhenflügen aus der Sternenküche.

During Richard Wagner's time in Zurich, the Baur au Lac was the scene of two memorable performances: First, Wagner read the entire poem about the Ring of the Nibelung here, later he premiered the first act of Die Walküre with Franz Liszt at the piano here; he himself sang the parts of Hunding and Siegmund. Now, at this historic location, in the Le Petit Palais des Baur au Lac, the Siegfried Idyll and the songs written in Zurich based on texts by Mathilde Wesendonck can be heard. After the concert, a lunch with culinary delights from the starred kitchen will tempt you.
