"Rigoletto" is an opera full of drama and emotions: the hunchbacked court jester Rigoletto is cursed by one of those affected because of his biting mockery of the victims of the Duke of Mantua, who is known as a notorious womanizer. Without any scruples towards others, Rigoletto does everything in his power to protect his own daughter Gilda from the duke's powers of seduction. But fate takes its course...

Verdi's masterpiece features what are probably the best-known melodies of Italian opera: the Duke's famous arias "Questa o quella" or "La donna è mobile", Rigoletto's great despair aria "Cortigiani, vil razza dannata", Gilda's aria "Caro Nome" and not most recently the quartet "Bella figlia dell'amore" are just a few of the many highlights of this opera.
