La ópera de Dvořák, Rusalka, cuenta la leyenda de una ninfa acuática que paga muy caro su deseo de amar a un humano, llega con cinco funciones (7, 10, 11 y 14 de noviembre a las 20 horas, y el 12 a las 17) en una adaptación de la producción del Teatro de Bellas Artes de México, con dirección musical del canadiense Julian Kuerti y dirección de escena del mexicano Enrique Singer.

The Czech composer Antonin Dvorák wanted to make a popular opera and in just a few months he produced what is, since 1900, one of the most performed in the history of the Czech Republic: in 1946 alone it had more than 500 performances. Rusalka, water nymph, from the mermaid family -many say that the libretto is based on Slavic legends but also on the historical story of Hans Christian Andersen- is the expression of the composer's melodic gift. The story of the mermaid who wants to be human for the love of a prince arrives for the first time at the Colón, with the famous aria “Song of the Moon”. A metaphor of the bond between human beings and nature and a fantastic love story.

El compositor checo Antonin Dvorák quería hacer una ópera popular y en sólo unos meses elaboró la que es, desde 1900, una de la más representada en la historia de la República Checa: sólo en 1946 tuvo más de 500 presentaciones. Rusalka, ninfa acuática, de la familia de la sirena -muchos dicen que el libreto se basa en leyendas eslavas pero también en el histórico relato de Hans Christian Andersen- es la expresión del don melódico del compositor. La historia de la sirena que quiere ser humana por amor a un príncipe llega por primera vez al Colón, con la famosa aria “Canción de la luna”. Una metáfora del vínculo del ser humano y la naturaleza y una historia de amor fantástico.
