It is the core of German romantic music that is on the program in the form of music by Schumann and Brahms. It is music that is at the very center of what we understand as symphonic music. It smells of mahogany, leather sofas and cigars – but it is also everything in life that is at stake: love, death, grief and the heart's innermost longings. The international star Truls Mørk is the soloist at this concert, and he is also the soloist in tonight's newly composed work by Eric Montalbetti. The new work Nachtgebet – night prayer – was composed for Mørk and is intended as a companion piece to Schumann's famous cello concerto.

Det er kernetræet af tysk romantisk musik, der er på programmet i form af musik af Schumann og Brahms. Det er musik, der er helt inde i centrum af, hvad vi forstår som symfonisk musik. Det er duft af mahogni, lædersofaer og cigar – men det er også alt i livet, der er på spil: kærligheden, døden, sorgen og hjertets inderste længsler. Det er den internationale stjerne Truls Mørk, der er solist ved denne koncert, og han er også solist i aftenens nykomponerede værk af Eric Montalbetti. Det nye værk Nachtgebet – nattebøn – er komponeret til Mørk og er tænkt som et kompagnonstykke til Schumanns berømte cellokoncert.
